Dick is a diver and an idiot. Mavis is a gorgeous mermaid (no, really) in a 50’s blonde bombshell kind of way. She is also an idiot by virtue of sexual equality. The rest of the characters are fish. Oh, and they’re on string, as in puppets.
There are many who would prefer to eat their own toe-nail clippings rather than consider 104 X 5 minute episodes of Deep Sea Dick as a valuable addition to their channel.
We, on the other hand like it a lot. Originally made in the U.S.A in the 1950’s as a children’s series and called Diver Dan the show was successful (honest)!. We decided to play around with it a bit and change the title, the scripts, the music and it has become something of a cult hit – so says Russ in our office and he’s a decent bloke.
We are looking for £ 1m an episode but will consider offers… or a skateboard. Have a look at it – if you don’t think it’s the funniest series you have ever seen we won’t be that surprised.
